Last updated 4 months ago

The Shopify POS (Point of Sale) app is a mobile application developed by Shopify that allows retailers to sell products in-store. It integrates seamlessly with the Shopify online store, providing a unified platform to manage both online and offline sales.

We do not have access to Shopify POS initially; we need to obtain this access from the client for testing purposes. When an order is placed in the Shopify POS app, there are multiple scenarios to consider and various ways this will reflect in the (OMS).

How to Access the Shopify POS App

For iOS (iPhone and iPad):

  1. Open the App Store:

    • Find and open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.

  2. Search for Shopify POS:

    • Use the search bar to find the app.

  3. Download and Install:

    • Tap the download icon or "Get" button to download and install the app on your device.

  4. Open the App:

    • Once installed, open the Shopify POS app from your home screen.

For Android:

  1. Open Google Play Store:

    • Find and open the Google Play Store on your Android device.

  2. Search for Shopify POS:

    • Use the search bar to find the app.

  3. Download and Install:

    • Tap "Install" to download and install the app on your device.

  4. Open the App:

    • Once installed, open the Shopify POS app from your app drawer or home screen.

Setting Up the Shopify POS App

  1. Enter Your Shopify Account Credentials to Log In:

    • Begin by entering your email address.

    • Then, enter your password.

  2. Receive the Authorization Code:

    • After entering your email and password, you will receive an authorization code for verification.

  3. Google Authentication App Required:

    • To receive the authorization code, you must have the Google Authentication app installed.

    • Ensure that the app is logged in with the same email address you entered in step 1.

  4. Select Store:

    • After successfully entering the authorization code, you will be prompted to select a location.

    • Choose your Retail Store from the list.

  5. Select a Location:

    • Choose a location from the available options.

  6. Allow App Permissions:

    • Grant permissions for location services, cameras, notifications, and Bluetooth.

Hint:

  • Stay Updated: Ensure your app is always updated to the latest version for the best performance and features.

By following these steps, you will successfully log in.

After the initial login, you must enter a PIN for subsequent logins. The client provides this PIN, and each time you want to log in, you need to enter it to access your Shopify POS.
